Uber Product Designer II - Design Systems in San Francisco, California
About the Role
We are hiring a Product Designer II for our Design Systems Team!
The Core Library team is the backbone of Uber's design system, focusing on creating scalable, flexible, and reusable components that power the entire Uber app ecosystem. As a Designer II, you'll work closely with product designers, engineers, and cross-functional partners to design and maintain high-quality UI libraries that are the foundation of Uber's user experiences. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to critical projects, refine Uber's design language, and ensure consistency, accessibility, and efficiency across all our platforms.
What You Will Do:
Design and maintain reusable components and patterns that form the foundation of Uber's design system.
Collaborate with engineers to ensure seamless implementation of designs across platforms.
Document and communicate design decisions, creating guidelines and best practices for system adoption.
Ensure the highest standards of usability, accessibility, and technical precision in all design work.
Continuously evolve and refine the design system to meet the needs of a global, multi-platform audience.
Partner with teams across Uber to identify opportunities for system improvements and innovations.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of experience in UI or systems design with a focus on creating scalable libraries.
Proficiency in Figma and a solid understanding of component-based design principles.
Expertise in creating detailed design documentation and component specifications.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, especially engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with design tokens and contributing to multi-platform libraries.
Design for accessibility
Strong problem-solving skills and a user-centered design approach.
Familiarity with motion design, micro-interactions, or advanced prototyping is a bonus.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$146,000 per year - USD$162,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
